SUNNYVALE, CA, September 16, 2010 (Press-News.org) Atlona Technologies, continuing with their solutions based manufacturing strategy, releases an HDMI extender featuring bi-directional IR. Atlona's AT-HD-BIR40SR extends HDMI signal extremely long distances without suffering signal degradation. Bi-directional IR allows users to control units connected from either end of the HD-BIR40SR. While the similar unit, AT-HD-IR40SR, was extremely popular amongst many installers and Control companies, a common request was the addition of Bi-directional IR. Now with the release of the new HD-BIR40SR, users are now capable of transmitting IR both directions with this HDMI1.3 extender.
The AT-HDBIR40SR is one of the first and only options to extend HDMI and bi-directional IR via baluns on the market today. With this revolutionary unit, users will have the advantage of allowing any Control System to power desired displays on and off, as well as perform input changes or any other similar task. Atlona's HDMI1.3 extender is capable of extending distances up to 130ft over Cat5/6/7 and resolutions up to 1080p. Along with 3D support, HDCP compliance and full EDID/DDC pass-though, this unit will support all of the latest HDMI audio formats for Hi-Fi audio to go along with a pristine picture. The Extenders are featured with extra wire channel for the IR frequencies up to 60 MHz, which will allow controlling all devices available to the market. This Atlona the HDMI v1.3 Extender with Bi-directional IR is a perfect solution for installations that require an extension of the HDMI and IR, while providing bi-directional IR communication via cost effective CAT5/6 cable.
Atlona's AT-HDBIR40SR will be on display at CEDIA 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia and is currently available with an MSRP of $399.00
