HOUSTON, TX, June 10, 2011 (Press-News.org) Stephanie White felt hopeless and alone growing up. As a child of divorce who was frequently caught in heated parental battles, she found herself victimized by verbal abuse, frequent relocations and a family history of alcoholism.
During her childhood Stephanie started creating beaded jewelry as way of relieving stress in her toxic home environment. Years later, when domestic abuse caused severe health problems and her own rocky marriage began to dissolve, she turned back to jewelry design. This time she not only found comfort, but an immense outlet for her natural creativity. Ten years ago, not long after her daughter was born, Stephanie launched her business on the internet and SWCreations.net was born. What began as an outlet for a difficult marriage soon became the financial support she needed to purchase her own home and raise her child.
Unique art beads are the foundation of Stephanie's designs. Having collected beads for more than ten years, she now has a treasure-trove to choose from in every size, shape and color imaginable. "My beads speak to me," says White, "and inspire each design. Every necklace or bracelet conveys a message, a mood, an expression that hopefully will resonate with the women who wear it."
Now happily remarried, Stephanie credits jewelry design as playing a large part in her healing process -- both physical as well as emotional. Little wonder Stephanie feels great compassion for women who are facing life-altering challenges. So she taps into her creativity to find just the right beads, stones and colors to design jewelry especially for women afflicted with certain diseases, domestic violence and other major life issues.
In Stephanie's artistic hands jewelry tells a story. She meticulously chooses one bead at a time, carefully blending shapes and hues for each design. None of her work is machine-made.
"Each of my designs has a message and meaning behind it," explains White. "I integrate a unique combination of rare beads, pendants, crystals, pearls, buttons and wire to create jewelry that expresses the range of emotions women feel when they are diagnosed with or overcome a series disease or other challenge."
Today SWCreations.net has loyal customers throughout the United States and several other nations as well. They know that every piece of jewelry they order is distinctive in its own way - a unique design that won't be duplicated or mass-produced.
They've learned about Stephanie's personal story in surviving an abusive marriage and serious health issues through her website pages. Many customers purchase jewelry throughout the year to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. Others use her beautiful designs as part of fund-raising activities for their charity of choice. Every year Stephanie donates jewelry to breast cancer and other health charities. She also supports many domestic abuse awareness groups and has even instructed classes during which women create their own domestic abuse bracelets. She finds it especially gratifying to know she is playing a part in promoting healing for women around the world. Says Stephanie, "I believe if my story helps just one woman, it is worth telling."
