Georgia Nonprofit Organizations Receive Instruction on Funding and Revenue Sources

Quinetha Frasier of Firstborn Group, LLC unites with the Georgia Center for Nonprofits as a faculty member of Nonprofit University to deliver various options to increase revenue for financial sustainability.

2011-06-10
ATLANTA, GA, June 10, 2011 (Press-News.org) Quinetha Frasier, MBA of Firstborn Group, LLC will provide instruction on June 16, 2011 with the Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN) from 10:45am- 12:15pm at the Equitable Building in Atlanta, GA. The 'Revenue Sources Overview' module will provide participants with a broad overview of the funding and revenue sources available in the Nonprofit Sector. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how to maintain financial sustainability and how nonprofit organizations are better positioned to fund their missions.

Many charitable organizations have been affected by the U.S. financial crisis. Nonprofits rely on corporate donations and interest income from their endowments for special programs, operational support and long-term sustainability, as noted by National Public Radio (NPR) correspondent. Quinetha says: "The most successful nonprofit organizations are those who identify a variety of funding sources. While they are charitable in nature, nonprofits are in the business of attracting revenue to maintain financial sustainability."

During this class module, she will address the following issues regarding revenue sources for nonprofits: 'What are the different sources of revenue for a nonprofit?'; 'What are the pros and cons of each?'; 'From an operational perspective, how do you approach and monitor them?' This module will cover funding from grants, foundations, earned revenue, and corporations. The learning module is one installment of a six-month program provided by GCN. Further information on the Nonprofit University is available at http://www.gcn.org.
