LateRooms.com - George Benson Set to Perform in Rome

Rome's Auditorium Parco della Musica will welcome US guitar legend George Benson next month.

2011-06-15
ROME, ITALY, June 15, 2011 (Press-News.org) Jazz guitarist George Benson will bring his legendary virtuosity to Rome this summer.

The Pittsburgh-born musician is set to perform at the Auditorium Parco della Musica on Tuesday July 12th, giving fans in Italy a chance to see him live on stage.

A one-time child prodigy, Benson continues to tour regularly at the age of 68 and released his latest album Songs and Stories in 2009.

He has been recording music since 1964, when the American's first LP - The New Boss Guitar - introduced the world to his remarkable talent.

In a statement on his website, Benson explained that the longevity of his career can be summed up by the title of his most recent album.

He said: "In the end, it's about the songs and the stories. That's what keeps the music fresh for me.

"If you come up with a great melody and put the right lyrics to it, I'm immediately excited."

Tickets for his Rome concert are available online, priced between EUR40 and EUR70 (GBP35.40 to GBP62.10). The music is due to begin at 21:00 local time.

LateRooms.com recommends a selection of 5 star hotels in Rome that could appeal to fans of Benson, including the Sheraton Roma Rome.
