Taap It Launched

Taap.it (http://taap.it) launched to provide an online-to-offline local marketplace right from your phone

2011-06-15
NEW YORK, NY, June 15, 2011 (Press-News.org) Taap.it (http://taap.it) launched to provide an online-to-offline local marketplace right from your phone

"Social Listing (beta code name of Taap.it) is a time-saving app for Android and iOS that lets you post to its classifieds by doing little more than taking a picture," said Adam Dachis, Editor at LifeHacker. "The app makes it easy to contact the seller via phone or email with just a tap. What's neat is that you can specify the distance radius of the other listings."

Taap.it (Social Listing) is one of the startups that got the most attention at TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Alley last week. Located in Midtown Manhattan, 2-month-old Taap It builds location-based mobile applications for iPhone and Android with a singular goal: to connect local buyers and sellers better, faster, and more social via mobile devices.

"It's completely simple to use, solves a problem, and there's no mystery about why this could be a blockbuster," said Andy Green, Editor at The Technoverse Blog. "With Social Listing's app and perhaps three or so clicks, you have taken a picture of your object, embedded geo-data with the image, and then automatically published it on Social Listing's mobile site".

Whether you want to sell a used car or sublet your apartment, Taap It offers a simple, fast and free way that can get the job done within a few clicks. It's classified advertisements, reinvented on your phone.

"It is so fast and easy to use," said Duy Huynh, Product Manager at Taap It. "Taap It turns those boring classified ads into more social, fun, and most importantly - instant local purchases."

Via Taap It, you will be able to find nearby hot classifieds from your phone with a few taps. All classifieds are sorted by distance from where you are. Once you see something you like, you can tap to call or email the seller immediately.

"Taap It gives us the power of immediate purchase," said Duy Huynh. "When I buy something, I want to buy it right now from people who are within 500 feet from me. Local newspapers couldn't do it. Craigslist couldn't do it either. Taap It will completely change how we browse and shop locally."

Posting an ad is also quick and easy. Take a photo of the item you want to post, whether you want to sell a used TV or rent a room in your apartment, enter some information, and instantly share with nearby Taap It users, Facebook, and Twitter.

The official Taap It app will available on both iPhone and Android on June 15, 2011.
