Deborah Hankinson, Jeffrey Levinger Honored in D Magazine's 2011 'Best Lawyers in Dallas'

Appellate Lawyers Deborah Hankinson and Jeffrey Levinger have earned selections to "The Best Lawyers in Dallas," a listing of the city's top attorneys published in the June 2011 edition of D Magazine.

2011-06-16
DALLAS, TX, June 16, 2011 (Press-News.org) Attorneys Deborah Hankinson and Jeffrey Levinger, co-founders of the Dallas appellate law firm Hankinson Levinger LLP, have earned selections to "The Best Lawyers in Dallas," a listing of the city's top attorneys published in the June 2011 edition of D Magazine.

Both Ms. Hankinson and Mr. Levinger have been included in D Magazine's annual "Best Lawyers" list on multiple occasions.

"It's humbling to be named among the best appellate lawyers in a city where there are so many great legal minds," says Ms. Hankinson.

To compile the listing of the city's top attorneys, D Magazine editors asked Dallas lawyers to nominate peers whose work they most admire. A panel of top attorneys then assisted the editors in finalizing the list.

"This recognition means a great deal to us because it comes from Dallas' legal community," says Mr. Levinger.

Ms. Hankinson has worked as both a trial lawyer and a jurist. She served as a Justice on the Fifth District Court of Appeals in Dallas and the Supreme Court of Texas. She is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She serves as a member of the American Law Institute, and sits on the Board of Directors for the American Arbitration Association. Since 2003, Ms. Hankinson has served on the Board of Directors for the Texas Access to Justice Foundation, which provides funding for organizations across the state that provide free civil legal assistance to low-income Texans. She has earned multiple selections as one of the state's Top 100 attorneys in the annual Texas Super Lawyers listing.

Mr. Levinger, an appellate lawyer with nearly 30 years of legal experience, has authored hundreds of appellate briefs, and argued dozens of appeals in state and federal appellate courts, including 16 oral arguments in the past three years alone. His appellate experience covers virtually every area of substantive law, from legal malpractice to intellectual property to products liability. Since 2009, he has served as Chairman of the State Bar of Texas Committee on Pattern Jury Charges (Malpractice, Premises and Products). He is a member of the American Law Institute and a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and Dallas Bar Foundation. Before co-founding Hankinson Levinger, he worked for 24 years at the Dallas law firm of Carrington, Coleman, Sloman & Blumenthal, where he served on the firm's executive committee and headed its appellate section.
