CAIRNS, AUSTRALIA, June 17, 2011 (Press-News.org) Australian rockers Karnivool are heading to Cairns next month as part of their first full Australian tour in a year.
 
The Perth band have played shows around the world to promote their latest album, Sound Awake, but have now arrived back down under and are due to headline the Brothers venue in Cairns on Saturday July 2nd 2011.
 
During their time touring Europe, the five-piece hit the main stage at the UK's Sonisphere Festival, sharing the bill with the likes of Iron Maiden, Pendulum and Slayer.
 
Fans can look forward to hearing some of the most popular tracks from that record, including Set Fire to the Hive, The Medicine Wears Off and The Caudal Lure.
 
As well as material from Karnivool's previous release, gig-goers can expect to be treated to a selection of new tracks, as the group have been writing since their last run of Australian shows in 2010.
 
The Cairns concert is due to get underway at 20:30 local time, with doors at the venue opening half an hour before this. Tickets are priced at AU$47 in advance and are only available to over-18s.
