SearStone Sponsors Free Presentation on Aging by Dr. William Evans
Acclaimed Author of Biomarkers: 10 Keys to Prolonging Vitality
CARY, NC, June 19, 2011
SearStone, a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community (CCRC) planned for Cary, is pleased to sponsor a free presentation by aging expert Dr. William Evans. This presentation is open to the public and will be held Wednesday, June 22, at 2 p.m. at Prestonwood Country Club, located at 300 Prestonwood Parkway.Evans' book, Biomarkers: 10 Keys to Prolonging Vitality, brings to light research from Harvard and Tufts Universities that clearly demonstrates that people can gain strength and improve their fitness at any age, even into their 90s. Exciting new evidence shows that physiological functions that contribute to aging can be controlled, regardless of age or one's physical condition. Even former couch potatoes can get started with only 50 minutes a day of aerobic exercise and strength training.
Dr. Evans will discuss how over the last two decades, scientists have learned a lot about aging that has led to new concepts in wellness and vitality. He states it is now generally agreed that while 25 percent of a person's health may be determined by genetics, 75 percent can be influenced by lifestyle choices.
"SearStone firmly believes in making every day count toward a healthier and more fulfilled life," said Director of Sales & Marketing Morgan Lamphere. "We believe in a holistic approach to wellness and will offer our members a full-service fitness center, healthy and delicious meal options, and intellectual and entertaining programming to engage their minds."
Plans at SearStone also include a botanical garden and conservatory featuring native North Carolina plants. The conservatory will feature cultural performances open to the general public.
SearStone has sold more than 70 percent of its available units, and is presently offering pre-construction pricing on entrance fees and a variety of home styles and floor plans to future residents who act now.
Seating for Dr. Evans' presentation is limited, and interested persons are asked to RSVP by calling (919) 466-9366 or emailing info@searstone.com.
