The Katonah Art Center Invites Everyone to be an Artist for a Day!

For Newcomers and the Curious Proceeds will go to KAC Scholarship Fund

2011-06-20
KATONAH, NY, June 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Katonah Art Center's 131 Art Day Open House will be held Sunday, June 26 from 12:00 - 3:00PM. Seasoned artists and newcomers alike—adults and kids—are encouraged to come and try a new art form. Drawing, painting, pottery, sculpture, animation, cartooning, crafts, and even music will be offered.

Katonah Art Center instructors will be available to teach, demonstrate, answer questions about the programs and camps, and to give tours of the studios in the beautiful, light-filled center.

"I like to give everyone the chance to be an artist and to discover his/her creative voice. This is the day when you can put whatever else you do aside and be an artist,' says Loren Anderson, the Katonah Art Center's founder and director.

Although the event is free, donations for the day will be accepted. All proceeds will go to the Katonah Art Center 131 Scholarship Fund, which raises money for students who cannot afford to pay their class tuition.

"This is a great way to give something back to our community," says Ms. Anderson. Adults and children can have fun creating; and we can help at the same time."

For hungry and thirsty artists, refreshments will be served.

The Katonah Art Center is located at 131 Bedford Road, Katonah, New York. For more information about the Katonah Art Center's Art Day or to find out more about the KAC's classes, call (914) 232-4843 or log onto the website at http://www.katonahartcenter.com.

The Katonah Art Center offers art instruction for all ages and skill levels. Our small classes allow the instructors to work with each student individually to help develop skills at his or her own pace, in a supportive non-threatening environment.
