Menchie's Opens First International Store in Canada

Fastest-Growing Self Serve Frozen Yogurt Chain in U.S. to Debut in Vaughan, Franchise Geared Towards Further Expanding into the Canadian Market

2010-09-17
VAUGHAN, ON, CANADA, September 17, 2010 (Press-News.org) With nearly 50 stores in the United States, Menchie's, the ultimate customizable frozen yogurt experience, today announced it has opened its first international store in Canada.

The new Menchie's store is located in the Rutherford Marketplace at 9360 Bathurst Street in Vaughan, Ontario. A grand opening celebration has been planned for Saturday, September 25, 2010, and will include free frozen yogurt from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., a DJ, free face painting, gift bag giveaways, and much more.

Local entrepreneur Sheryl Bielas is excited to bring this family friendly business to the community.

"We are proud to open this amazing family-friendly concept in Canada. Menchie's is more than great frozen yogurt, it is a whole experience," said Bielas. "While kids always love the mixing and matching of different flavors and toppings, the creative self-serve process seems to bring out the kid in everyone, regardless of age."

Menchie's customers help themselves to an unlimited mix of yogurt and toppings at a unique self-serve station with more than 100 rotating yogurt flavors from cake batter and pomegranate tart to chocolate silk and vanilla snow, and more than 70 rotating toppings including fresh fruits, granolas, nuts, an assortment of candy and hot fudges. Menchie's uses the highest quality frozen yogurt at all of its locations globally, made exclusively through its own label. Furthermore, Menchie's frozen yogurt contains live and active cultures and has received the Live and Active Culture (LAC) seal indicating its endorsement by the National Yogurt Association in the United States.

Menchie's success comes from helping customers create memories in an environment that is warm and welcoming and from its family-friendly atmosphere. The interactive store experience, relaxing indoor and outdoor seating areas, and enjoyable music create the ideal place for families to gather every day. To make the experience a little sweeter, Menchie's frequently provides free stickers and balloons to children at the store.

Menchie's is also actively involved in the community, as stores typically partner with local schools in fundraising activities and education incentive programs. Annually, each Menchie's store donates thousands of dollars in cash and products to local schools to support student programs.

"We are thrilled to introduce the Menchie's experience to the Canadian market with the opening of the new Vaughan store," stated Amit Kleinberger, CEO of Menchie's Global Headquarters. "With the frozen yogurt industry growing rapidly, Menchie's continues to expand through franchising as new entrepreneurs realize the success and growth potential for this business. Menchie's is an exciting and rewarding business opportunity that mixes the highest quality yogurt with an unmatched customer experience. Menchie's is primed to be a household name in the near future as new locations continue to open."

Menchie's is actively seeking more partnerships with passionate entrepreneurs who are interested in opening stores in strong retail locations throughout Canada including in shopping centers, strip centers, outdoor/indoor malls, street retail, lifestyle centers, universities, sports arenas, airports, and other sites.
