LateRooms.com - Enjoy La Strada Ballet in Naples

The Teatro di San Carlo in Naples is staging a ballet adaptation of the Federico Fellini film La Strada.

2011-06-22
NAPLES, ITALY, June 22, 2011 (Press-News.org) Fans of the great filmmaker Federico Fellini can book tickets to see a ballet adaptation of La Strada featuring the original soundtrack next month.

The 1954 movie starring Anthony Quinn and Giulietta Masina was highly acclaimed on its release and won the Academy Award for best foreign language film two years later.

Nina Rota provided the music for the picture and it is her composition that will be performed, with the Teatro di San Carlo Corps de Ballet interpreting the action on stage.

The dark drama is an example of Italian neorealism filmmaking, following the fortunes of a naive woman sold by her mother to a performance troupe led by an often cruel strongman.

Rota's score is innovatively introduced into the mis-en-scene through certain characters playing instruments such as violins and trumpets.

The music has been adapted by choreographer Mario Pistoni to create a stunning yet tragic ballet production.

It will be performed at 21:00 local time on July 8th, 9th and 10th. Tickets cost EUR20 (GBP17.60).

Cinema buffs can browse a generous selection of Naples hotels on LateRooms.com, including the Grand Hotel Parkers Naples.

Find out more about the concert by visiting http://www.teatrosancarlo.it/en/ or calling the theatre on +39 08 1797 2111.

Mac vs. PC - Which Keyboard Are You Tapping? in African Business Review
2011-06-22
Ultimately, this boils down to operating systems - what is now the Mac OS X compared to Windows 7. To be politically correct, this is a generalisation to an extent. Firstly, the term 'PC' stands for a personal computer, so technically includes any brand of computer or laptop. Also, because Macs use Intel chips, they can now run Windows if purchased separately, whereas the Mac OS remains exclusive to Mac computers. But referring to a PC will, for most people, conjure up images of a typical desktop computer run on Windows. Like any argument worth its salt, there are ...

Is the Google Chromebook Good For Business Users? With Business Review Europe
2011-06-22
The new Google Chromebook was officially unveiled last month, and for Google, it was largely a quiet affair. Whenever Google, Facebook or Apple launches a product it generally takes over social networks and websites around the world; every other web page you read will have something related to it and Google introducing their first ever full OS should have done just that. However, after being in the pipeline for so long, it caused a mere ripple in the pond we call the internet. Will Chromebooks be the next big thing for business? Only time will tell. Without solid networks ...
