NEW YORK, NY, June 25, 2011 (Press-News.org) Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., the nation's leading resource for identifying Top Doctors, has announced that its new, online nomination site, http://www.castleconnolly.com/nominations, is now open to ALL licensed physicians across the country.
Those physicians who wish to nominate will be asked to enter certain basic information in order to verify their identity as a licensed physician and thus gain access to the nomination site. A doctor will be able to nominate a maximum of ten physicians in his/her own specialty and up to three physicians in most other American Board of Medical Specialty-approved specialties, during the course of a one-year period.
In nominating other physicians whom they feel are clinically outstanding, doctors can also indicate which physicians they believe are deserving of national or regional recognition. Those who are nationally recognized are among the best in the country in their medical specialty and are likely to be top referral specialists who attract patients from a wide geographical area or from across the country; those who are regionally recognized are among the best in their local communities and metropolitan areas.
After receiving the nominations, Castle Connolly's physician-led research team reviews all nominated physicians' credentials, including board certification, education, training, hospital appointments, disciplinary history and other areas.
Doctors who are ultimately chosen as Castle Connolly Top Doctors(TM) may be eligible to have their professional profiles appear with the online listings of Castle Connolly Top Doctors(TM) at http://www.castleconnolly.com, in a national print guide such as America's Top Doctors(R) or America's Top Doctors(R) for Cancer, in a regional print publication such as Top Doctors: New York Metro Area, in a regional or national magazine featuring Top Doctors or as part of the recently announced collaborative effort with US News and World Report's Top Doctors listings which will be released next month. Doctors do not and cannot pay to be included in any Castle Connolly publication or online listing.
