Go Green with Weir Bags

Weir & Carmichael offers a range of flexible packaging solutions including sacks and bags that have been sold to industry throughout the UK for more than 50 years.

2010-09-18
LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND, September 18, 2010 (Press-News.org) Weir & Carmichael offers a range of flexible packaging solutions including sacks and bags that have been sold to industry throughout the UK for more than 50 years.

Recognising the importance of recycling we have developed a range of products that help businesses and homes to do just that. Our range of containers and bags cover everything from industrial waste applications to household and food waste.

Our extensive product range includes bags for two and four wheeled bins, boxes for the kerbside, kitchen caddies as well as composters and recycling bags. All of these products are made to specific customer requirements and can be printed with logos such as local authority emblems, and can also include instructions for residents.

An important part of our extensive range includes our kerbside recycling bags. These are robust and woven from polypropylene; they are ideal for the kerbside collection of household rubbish such as paper, glass, plastic, batteries and garden waste. These kerbside bags are compact and can be folded away when not in use; they also have handles at the top and at the bottom for easy tipping.
All of our bags can be printed with logos and come in a range of styles, colours and handling options. We also offer bags with top flaps that prevent content from escaping while, as an option, we can install weighted bases to give bags a more solid feel.

Paper recycling sacks are becoming ever more essential as more and more local authorities and companies prefer to use paper sacks to dispose of garden and kitchen waste. These sacks are produced from sustainable forests and for every tree that is felled up to four new trees are planted. Because the sacks are not reused they need to be produced with the least possible effect on the environment.

Our range of paper sacks includes kitchen caddy liners, refuse sacks, secure shredding sacks and paper recycling sacks, as well as waste bin liners, clinical refuse sacks and marine refuse sacks. We offer several different styles, including an open mouthed sack with a sewn or glued bottom, gusseted and block bottom sacks, valve paper sacks as well as polythene lined or coated paper sacks.

At Weir & Carmichael we have an excellent reputation for service and quality, and we are both ISO9001 and ISO14001 qualified. Our head office is in Liverpool and sports 40,000 square feet of warehouse space. We believe that packaging should be purchased for a purpose and not wasted, and through advancements in technology we now offer products that have a much smaller impact on the environment.
