NEW YORK, NY, July 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) Taap.it Mobile Marketplace (http://taap.it) will demo its latest more concise version at the NY Tech Meetup. The event will be held at NYU Skirball Center for the performing arts on July 5th, 2011 at 7:00pm.
Taap.it is an innovative new app that brings your neighborhood's marketplace to your phone, connecting local buyers and sellers and providing a forum for its users to publicize local events.
The idea for Taap.it comes from the need to have local and instant classifieds, which has not been fully addressed in the market. Right now when people want to sell classified ads, they have to go through either the local newspaper (which is costly and slow) or Craigslist (which is a hassle because you need your computer to post). Taap.it solves such problems by creating a fun and easy way for sellers to quickly post their ads on the mobile phone, they can simply just "taap it" to take a picture on their phone and post it within an instant.
"Social Listings( now Taap.it) an NYC based start-up that could take some business away from E-Bay and Craigslist," said Marcel Sim from CoolBusinessIdeas.com.
A "very key" feature from Taap.it, which will launch July 1 and is different from Craigslist, eBay, Amazon, or any other products out there, is that Taap.it provides a "free, fast, and simple way" for local stores, boutiques, food trucks, etc in NYC to instantly build a "mobile store front." Ten years ago, everyone wanted to build a website storefront to start doing e-commerce. Now with Taap.it, any local merchant can setup their mobile storefront to do m-commerce, which is a 31 billion dollar business.
"It's a terrific idea and should in theory provide an alternative small business marketing strategy to the more chaotic Groupon." said Andy Green from The Technoverse Blog.
Sell a laptop? Sublet an apartment? Have an event to share? Use Taap.it- a simple, fast and fun app that reinvents classified advertising on your phone.
The new free version on the iPhone and Android market will be out next week. To learn more about the app you can attend the demo on July 5th.
