Montgomery Mall & Simon Youth Foundation Award Local Student Wtih Scholarship

Simon Youth Foundation Scholarship Benefits Souderton High School Senior

NORTH WALES, PA, July 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) Montgomery Mall, in partnership with the Simon Youth Foundation (SYF), recently awarded Souderton High School senior Rebecca Ly with a $1,400 scholarship for outstanding academic achievement. Ly, a Telford, Pa. resident, will be studying accounting at the University of Pittsburgh in the fall.

SYF Scholarship recipients are selected based on financial need, academic record, leadership, participation in school and community activities, honors level coursework, work experience, and a statement of career and educational goals. In addition, special consideration is given to first-generation college students.

"Montgomery Mall is proud to be a part of the SYF Community Scholarship Program. It's programs like these that foster and improve educational opportunities, career development and life skills to enrich the lives of young people," said Kirsten Boettcher, Marketing Director of the Montgomery Mall. "We wish Rebecca all the best as she embarks on this next chapter in her life."

The SYF Community Scholarship Program is available to high school seniors living near a Simon property who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school. One-time scholarships are awarded in the amount of $1,400. The 2012 SYF Community Scholarship Program will begin accepting applications in mid-October of 2011.
