MONACO, July 06, 2011 (Press-News.org) Built specifically to break the Charlie Barr Transatlantic Record by the French shipyard JMV Industries in 2003 this 43 metre, Philip Briand designed schooner was built to be at the forefront of her class.
"She was designed to be the world's most cutting-edge racing schooner," says YPI Group CEO, Bertrand Vogele. "The goal was to beat the Charlie Barr Transatlantic Record for a monohull. In October 2003 she succeeded...smashing it by almost two days."
The SENSO ONE still holds this record and also retains the records for the fastest crossing from Guadeloupe to Antigua, The 100 Year Rolex Transatlantic Challenge Record and the West Coast Hawaii Pacific Record.
She needn't be regarded as purely a racing yacht however, several plans have been looked at by the existing owner with the premise of transforming the SENSO ONE into a luxury sailing yacht for charter.
"Her interior layout and the rare volume she enjoys means there are several excellent options when it comes to refitting her," adds Bertrand. "Plenty of ideas for a new owner to choose from."
This rare opportunity means that a buyer looking for both speed and comfort in a luxury sailing yacht for sale needn't compromise.
"When it comes to racing she is an absolute joy," adds Bertrand. "But she needn't just be about the racing. She is one of the most spacious schooners on the market today...and that space can easily be converted to accommodation."
The SENSO ONE is for sale exclusively through YPI Group Brokerage, for further information on this fantastic opportunity contact Bertrand Vogele at YPI Brokerage.

The rise and rise of the flying reptiles
2011-07-07
A new study by Katy Prentice, done as part of her undergraduate degree (MSci in Palaeontology and Evolution) at the University of Bristol, shows that the pterosaurs evolved in a most unusual way, becoming more and more specialised through their 160 million years on Earth. The work is published today in the Journal of Systematic Palaeontology.
'Usually, when a new group of animals or plants evolves, they quickly try out all the options. When we did this study, we thought pterosaurs would be the same,' said Katy. 'Pterosaurs were the first flying animals – they appeared ...
Lack of clarity about HPV vaccine and the need for cervical cancer screening
2011-07-07
The research will be presented today [Thursday 7 July] at the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Society of Academic Primary Care, hosted this year by the Academic Unit of Primary Health Care, University of Bristol.
The HPV vaccination programme, introduced in the UK in 2008, uses HPV vaccine that is effective against the two most common high risk HPV types (16 and 18), and offers 70 per cent protection against cervical cancer. However, vaccinated girls will still need to attend cervical screening in the future to ensure protection against cervical cancer caused by high ...

Unique gel capsule structure enables co-delivery of different types of drugs
2011-07-07
Researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology have designed a multiple-compartment gel capsule that could be used to simultaneously deliver drugs of different types. The researchers used a simple "one-pot" method to prepare the hydrogel capsules, which measure less than one micron.
The capsule's structure -- hollow except for polymer chains tethered to the interior of the shell -- provides spatially-segregated compartments that make it a good candidate for multi-drug encapsulation and release strategies. The microcapsule could be used to simultaneously deliver distinct ...
Bigger than football: Study shows sports can help communities recover from disaster
2011-07-07
Research from North Carolina State University shows that organized sports can be a powerful tool for helping to rebuild communities in the wake of disasters. The research focused specifically on the role of professional football in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
"Sports, and by extension sports media, can be a powerful force for good. It can bring people together. It can provide hope, even in the midst of great destruction," says Dr. Ken Zagacki, co-author of a paper describing the research and a professor of communication at NC State. "But we have to be careful that ...

Transcription factor is potential target for liver cancer treatment
2011-07-07
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Altering the body's metabolism could be an effective treatment for deadly liver cancer, researchers report.
The finding that inhibiting heat shock transcription factor 1, or HSF1, prevents liver cancer in mice also is another wake-up call that a low-fat, healthy diet is an effective cancer deterrent, said Dr. Demetrius Moskophidis, Cancer Virologist/Immunologist at Georgia Health Sciences University. HSF1 and its target genes are important to metabolism regulation.
"The principle that we demonstrated is that if we change the metabolism, we can interfere ...
