LONDON, ENGLAND, July 07, 2011 (Press-News.org) Commissioned by personal jet charter company PrivateFly and carried out by survey company Clarity UK, the survey into business travel habits was completed by over one hundred high profile UK business leaders in early 2011.
The main aim of the survey was to better understand the views of business executives in relation to business travel, their habits, preferences and views regarding various aspects of road, rail and air travel.
Clarity Managing Director Paul Collins commented, "We were delighted to be chosen by PrivateFly to conduct such an interesting and useful survey. We believe the results that have emerged will have great practical applications for both PrivateFly and the transport industry in general."
Specific highlights from the survey included:
• 71.79% of business people still travel to work by car rather than public transport.
• 15 hours 49 minutes of working time is wasted by business executives each month while travelling by car.
• Underground, trams, light rail and local trains were seen as the mode of transport which were least productive for working and were also the least comfortable.
• 74.13% of senior business people prefer paper based reading materials while travelling as opposed to technology driven devices such as notebooks and iPads.
Paul went on to say "The survey looked at all forms of transport and it was perhaps unsurprising to see private aviation come out best in terms of productivity and style and comfort. On the other hand, travel by car provided poor productivity and reflective of the mode of transport's dominance; it also proved the biggest time waster each month."
Further results will be released in remainder of 2011 by PrivateFly. In the meantime, should you have any questions about the survey, please contact Paul Collins at Clarity UK.
