Recently, Marshall-lekae fine art gallery received some of the artworks that are made by Mario Andres Robinson. He was born in Altus, OK and his family was relocated in New Jersey at the age of 12. During his pre-teen years, a fifth grade teacher found out about his artistic talent. This is where his passion on artworks began.

Robinson studied at the prestigious Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. During his early years, he began to idolize some of the great masters of Art as inspiration and technical insights. He is an avid student of realism and he studied some of the elemental principles by exploring some of the techniques used by old masters such as Rembrandt.

However, his strong stylistic foundation came from the 19th and 20th century artists of America wherein he forged and defined his own sensibility. The paintings of Mario Robinson were based on the traditional painting of Americans. The work of art of Robinson was very close to the paintings made by realist masters. His art works are one of a kind since it has a timeless, universal quality and it has a stylistic aesthetic.

In the year 1994, he started to use some rural subjects in his works particularly in Alabama. For every artist, the subject of their art works is the main factor in making a unique art. As he continues this kind of work, he began to put a unique story in every work that he makes. He began depicting family members and close friends and created some paintings that portray their daily lives.

Mario Robinson was an Exhibiting Artist Member (EAM) of The National Arts Club Robinson. He represented Winsor & Newton products as featured artist in 2009. His work has been featured often in The ArtistâEUR s Magazine, The Pastel Journal, Watercolor Magazine and several others. In the February issue of The ArtistâEUR s Magazine, Mario was selected as one of the top realists under age 40.
