LateRooms.com - La Cena de los Idiotas to be Performed in Bilbao

The play is a Spanish interpretation of the French movie Le Diner de Cons.

2011-07-08
BILBAO, SPAIN, July 08, 2011 (Press-News.org) Bilbao's Euskalduna Conference Centre and Concert Hall will stage a Spanish production entitled La Cena de los Idiotas from August 19th to 24th.

The play is based on Le Diner de Cons, the acclaimed 1998 French film by Francis Veber that was recently remade in the US with Steve Carell and Paul Rudd in the lead roles.

Veber used his own theatrical material for the movie.

La Cena de los Idiotas sees comedians Josema Yuste, Agustin Jimenez and Feliz Alvarez deliver a hilarious adaptation of the script, which offers a witty and insightful criticism of modern society.

The main characters decide to have a dinner party and see which of them can find the weirdest and most pathetic person to bring along.

"It is somewhat like a competition in which the winner will be given the great honour of being rated as the smartest guy in the group for having invited the biggest schmuck to dinner," explained the organisers of the show.

Tickets cost EUR25 (GBP22.35) and the performance begins at 20:00 local time each evening, with some later shows at 23:00 also taking place.

Theatre-goers who are keen to find a hotel in Bilbao can use LateRooms.com to peruse a great variety of options, including the Hotel Carlton Bilbao.
