WAKEFIELD, MA, , July 10, 2011 (Press-News.org) Thomas Gregory Associates Insurance Agency, a full-service, privately-held insurance brokerage firm founded in 1995 by Tom Gregory and Will Surette, announced the sale of the company to Bangor, Maine-based Cross Insurance, a subsidiary of Cross Financial Corp., to expand the recently formed Cross Insurance Wakefield.
Like Cross Insurance, Thomas Gregory Associates Insurance Agency (TGA) provides insurance and risk management services for commercial property and casualty insurance, personal insurance and employee benefits. Born on the premise of international broker knowledge and resources, coupled with regional broker service and attention, TGA has proven itself to be one of the leading insurance brokerages in New England.
"TGA's staff is composed of individuals with many years of experience at international insurance firms and regional brokerages in the New England area, and together with Cross' highly-skilled staff, we are sure to deliver the kind of professional insurance services you can always trust to take charge of your insurance and risk management issues," said Woodrow Cross, Chairman of the Board of Cross Insurance.
Cross Insurance is a privately-held insurance agency/brokerage firm with more than 400 employees and is one of the largest insurance firms in New England. In March 2011, Cross Insurance acquired Mazonson Insurance in Wakefield, Mass. to form Cross Insurance Wakefield. With this additional acquisition of Thomas Gregory Associates (TGA), the agency will now have over 50 employees in their Wakefield, MA office.
"On behalf of everyone at TGA, I am looking forward to the future growth and success of our combined companies," said Tom Gregory, co-founder of TGA and the newly named President of TGA/Cross Insurance Wakefield. "Our clients will continue to receive outstanding service from our Account Teams. The combined entity brings greater synergies, capabilities, and market clout to our clients and prospects, and will support our efforts to continually exceed our clients' expectations," continued Gregory.
Cross Insurance Wakefield will continue to offer customized insurance-based risk management solutions and consulting in the areas of Commercial Property and Casualty, Employee and Voluntary Worksite Benefits, HR Services and Personal Lines Property and Casualty via their Private Client Group (PCG). They offer specialized analytical tools for managing the cost of clients' risk and provide clients with 24-hour claims advocacy and support.
"With TGA being a family-owned business like Cross, combined with their strong presence not only in the Boston area, but nationwide, I'm confident the marriage of the two companies will be a success," said Woodrow Cross, CEO of Cross Insurance. Woodrow Cross founded Cross Insurance in 1954 after having proudly served in WWII. He has built the organization "one policy at a time" to become one of New England's largest insurance providers.
This summer Cross Insurance will work to merge their two Wakefield locations together into one suite at Edgewater Drive in Wakefield, MA. Cross Insurance Wakefield can be reached at the same phone numbers: 781-224-5700 or 800-531-5211.
