IREM Greater Raleigh-Durham Chapter 105 Achieves Five Star Status for Fourth Consecutive Year
Local chapter recognized for providing valuable services and programs to members
RALEIGH, NC, July 12, 2011
The Greater Raleigh-Durham Chapter 105 of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) has again received high honors in IREM's Chapter Star Recognition Program. The Chapter was formally recognized for achieving Five Star Status at the IREM Awards Event and Dinner at this year's Leadership and Legislative Summit held on April 11th in Washington, DC.IREM Chapter 105, which serves the greater Raleigh and Durham area, was recognized for a variety of initiatives it undertook in 2010, while under the leadership of Chapter Immediate Past President, Tracey Johnson, CPM. The Chapter Star Recognition Program recognizes IREM chapters for providing valuable member services and programs. The program awards points for specific activities based on criteria that define effective, successful chapters—some activities are required, others are elective. Then, based on total points earned, chapters can achieve Three, Four, or Five Star Status. This is the fourth consecutive year that Chapter 105 has been awarded Five Star Status.
During the last year, the chapter was able to achieve several milestones. Most notably, the organization held a successful RES201 course facilitated by Glen French, CPM Emeritus with 14 attendees; donated $1,500 to Urban Ministries from its President's Cup Challenge Golf Tournament; made impressive strides in increasing student outreach by holding a roundtable at UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School, as well as donating five student memberships to Saint Augustine's College for students interested in careers in real estate management; and increased chapter growth by a projected 3%.
"Despite the continued economic uncertainty, we were able to pull together to increase chapter membership and end the year with positive cash flow," says Johnson. "Being able to accomplish both of these things speak volumes about our Chapter and the value that the real estate community continues to place on our organization as a networking opportunity and informational resource."
