SAN DIEGO, CA, September 19, 2010 (Press-News.org) In honor of the back to school season, Children's Physicians Medical Group ( http://www.cpmgsandiego.com ) (CPMG) is hosting an essay contest for any person under the age of 18. The topic of the essay is "My Favorite School Subject". Contestants should explain their favorite subject in school and why it is their favorite. The most creative entry, as determined by a panel of CPMG affiliated judges, will be selected as the winner of a brand new Nintendo Wii game console. The writers of the top three essays will receive a brand new backpack stuffed with various back to school supplies. This contest will be judged based on quality, not quantity, so there is no required length for the essay. Contestants should write as much as they feel is necessary to creatively complete their essay. All entries must be submitted by 9/24/10 and must be typed or handwritten. For more information on where to send entries, please refer to: http://www.facebook.com/CPMGSanDiego .
This contest is the latest effort by CPMG to bring attention to their cause of keeping children healthy and keeping parents and guardians informed. CPMG recently partnered with a local Internet marketing firm to increase their popularity on the web and to introduce CPMG to parents who may not have known that the organization existed. CPMG is not a hospital, but a collection of over 300 pediatricians and pediatric specialists in the San Diego and Southern Riverside County areas. While services offered by CPMG are mainly for parents and guardians in the area and those who can travel to the area, the information that CPMG is sharing through their efforts applies to every child in any location around the world.
On their Facebook fan page visitors will find free information on keeping children safe. Whether the visitor is a parent, a guardian, a child care professional, or just an interested family member, everyone has the opportunity to learn something new through CPMG's efforts. Information is distributed in written and video format. Informative links to trusted information sources are also included so that visitors can expand on the information offered by CPMG.
In order to gain access to the wealth of information that CPMG is attempting to distribute online, individuals must first be members of Facebook.com. Becoming a member of Facebook.com is free, easy, and takes no more than five minutes. For those who do not wish to join Facebook, the videos posted by CPMG are available for free and without membership by visiting CPMG's YouTube.com channel ( http://www.youtube.com/user/CPMGSanDiego ). The channel is an area of YouTube dedicated solely to videos posted by CPMG, and visitors don't have to join YouTube in order to gain access to the videos. Videos are never more than a few minutes in length, making them easy to watch throughout the day. CPMG followers enjoy the fact that the videos are posted to YouTube because they are accessible over any Internet connection, even through mobile devices for adults constantly on the move, because no person's daily routine should ever prevent them from learning how to keep their kids safe.
Information shared by CPMG is always posted and/or reviewed by medical professionals currently working in the field, so parents can rest assured that the information they receive is correct and up to date.
CPMG recently celebrated reaching over 800 fans on Facebook, and their popularity continues to grow. By hosting the essay writing contest, CPMG hopes to reach even more Internet users who may not have heard about CPMG and all the great things they do. Even if the essay contest only introduces one single individual to CPMG and their cause, it will be a success for the organization.
