Schaumburg, Illinois (July 19, 2011) - The Rabine Group Foundation recently hosted its 3rd Annual Golf Outing last July 15, 2011 at the Black Hawk Run Golf Club in Stockton, Illinois. More than a hundred golfers and dinner guests attended the event including clients, colleagues and friends of the Rabine Group companies.
This golf outing is the only fundraiser for the Rabine Group's foundation that reaches outside of the Rabine Group companies and is one of the campaigns rolled out to support non-profit organizations advocating for children, the elderly and medical research. Some of the organizations the Foundation supports include: CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Chicago Commons, Senior Service Associates, Youth Build Lake County, Parkways Foundation, and The Otis Wilson Foundation. Representatives from two of these organizations were present at the event to share a few words about their respective causes, including Dan Valerie, Executive Director at Chicago Commons, and Otis Wilson, former Chicago Bears linebacker and founder of The Otis Wilson Foundation.
The event opened with the "Golf with a Celebrity Live Auction" that allowed for four of the highest bidding foursomes to play golf with NFL celebrities Otis Wilson, Israel Idonije, Tim Tyrell and Reggie Smith. In addition to golf, guests participated in the "$500 Favorite Charity Donation Raffle", a "Golf Gear and Specialty items Raffle", "Casino Holes", a "Pontoon Boat Fun shot", "Palatine Oil Company (POC)'s Free Gas Card Raffle" and a "Silent Auction" that included autographed Sports items.
The event concluded with a dinner presentation and a few words from Rabine Group CEO Gary Rabine and his wife Cheryl, the Chairperson of the Foundation.
Gary emphasized the importance making a difference by giving back to the community and shared, "Someone recently informed my partner that she will hire us because the Rabine Group Foundation held a Petting Zoo at her Mother's health care facility and it was all she - her mother - talked about during the last six months of her life", he adds, "This is the feedback our team strives for. In addition, emersion in these activities strengthens our team and builds a culture of camaraderie and community awareness, and makes the Rabine Group more than just another construction services company."
