LAS VEGAS, NV, September 20, 2010 (Press-News.org) For the second consecutive year the Southern Nevada Division of Pardee Homes has received the highest rankings from J.D. Power and Associates for overall customer satisfaction and new home quality in the Las Vegas market.
"This repeat performance underscores Pardee's commitment to the families who buy our homes and to our team members who build them," said Klif Andrews, president of Pardee's Southern Nevada Division.

The J.D. Power and Associates study once again ranks Pardee highest in overall customer satisfaction among new-home builders as well as highest in new-home quality in Las Vegas.** One of the West's largest and longest established home builders, Pardee has built homes for more than 40,000 families in the Las Vegas Valley since 1952.
Pardee President & CEO Michael V. McGee called the back-to-back honors an affirmation of the company's historic roots. "It's a legacy we call the good-neighbor policy, and it's pretty simple. It means creating quality homes and communities. It means treating buyers as if they were our neighbors, because they are."
According to the new 2010 report, Pardee performs particularly well in the Las Vegas market in six key areas of builder performance: builder's sales staff; builder's design center; construction manager; workmanship/materials; home readiness and builder's warranty/customer service staff.
Pardee department heads meet monthly to review opportunities for improvement and to discuss "how to deliver a better product to our home buyers," said Rocky Cochran, vice president of construction operations for Pardee in Southern Nevada.
Part of Pardee's customer-focused process includes additional contacts with buyers after the sale as well as quality and orientation walks of their home. There are three post-closing visits that teach the new owners how their homes work, change batteries and filters, if necessary, and provide education on home upkeep, according to Doug Cazin, Pardee corporate director of customer service.
Pardee Regional Sales Director Rob Tuvell conducts weekly neighborhood team meetings attended by sales, construction, closing services and the design studio to review in detail each buyer's needs and how to give the buyer the best experience possible.
"We not only want to better understand their needs, we want to anticipate their needs and exceed their expectations," said Tuvell.
Long known as a pioneer in building communities in both Southern California and Southern Nevada, Pardee is also recognized as a national leader in environmentally responsible development. Every new home includes Pardee's LivingSmart standards that help conserve energy, improve indoor air quality, save water and reduce consumption of natural resources.
From entry-level to luxury, Pardee covers the Las Vegas Valley with eight active single-family new home neighborhoods in all sections of the metropolitan area. Pardee neighborhoods and communities now open for sales include Ashwood in Nevada Trails; Montclaire in Green Valley Ranch; Solstice in Aliante; Solamar in Vista Verde; Riverstone in Prescott Park; Rosetta and Serrano in Mountain's Edge; and Trail Ridge at Blue Diamond and Durango.

Taxes
"The only thing certain is death and taxes" -Ben Franklin.
It often happens that for one reason or another you owe back taxes. The IRS can be relentless in their pursuit for payment. It may seem like filing for Bankruptcy would get the tax man off your back, but this is not necessarily the case. The Franchise Tax Board and the Internal Revenue Service really don't like to lose money.
How you can tell if your tax debt is likely to be discharged with a Chapter 7 bankruptcy? Here is a good rule of thumb. ...

Short Sale vs. Foreclosure
A lot of our clients aren't sure what the effects of losing their real property are. There are several schools of thought. I will only (attempt) to address the differences as they pertain to bankruptcy.
Warning: gross generalization and simplification ahead
If you choose to short sale your house it would look like this. First you would list your home with a qualified agent. This agent would get the banks permission to do a short sale. They would then gather several (hopefully) offers and submit them to the bank. The highest one wins ...

Whether an after-work happy hour, televised sporting event or an all-night celebration, many different events draw patrons to their local bars. Dramshop laws were created to deter bars from over-serving customers. If a patron is over-served and is ...
