SAN FRANCISCO, CA, July 25, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Age of Reason, a moralistic tale exploring the concepts of freedom through the eyes of bohemian under-lords and frustrated students lends itself wonderfully to the bright and entertaining Robillard Theatreworks. Following stellar reviews of their 2010 sold out production of Nabokov's "Laughter in the Dark", they are geared up for more dancing, more films, tight acting and amazing costumes.
We follow a laid off philosophy professor through his rocky life as he struggles with growing pains and his need to retain his freedom at any cost. The characters he meets along the way pave the road for a new outlook on what it actually means to be free and how social boundaries are individual and not set in stone.
Sarah Moss, artistic director and choreographer of RbT, was drawn to this story while writing an original script and decided to go with the sense that this was a worthwhile piece to bring to life.
"I enjoy the various moments in the story when we are brought to face a highly individualistic view of freedom. The freedom to choose what one does with their body, to marry into an unconventional household, to cause bodily harm to oneself, to alter states of mind with various substances. These freedoms are jeopardized and sought after on a constant basis here more modern day America, just as they were in late 30's Paris, the original setting of the novel. As one character Ivich states: 'the freedom to bleed is something no one can take from you' as she unleashes her anxieties and anger with the world on her own body.
I love the characters because they are unapologetic about their habits, views and actions, they are funny and tragic, lending to a definite pulp-fiction, film-noir styling of the show, an aesthetic that I love melding with modern dance and old theater techniques."
Sarah Moss hopes to ignite an interest in reading and theater with her annual productions. "A college English Professor came to our show last year and thanked me personally for giving her an outlet to get her students interested in reading old literature. Not only were they excited to come see the show, but they picked up the book and read the original story."

2011-07-25
There may be no target too high for silver to reach in coming months. Investors were captivated by silver earlier this year, only to grow cautious following its rather spectacular drop in May. Silver tends to attract a fair share of safe haven buying, causing it to rise alongside gold in the wake of economic crises on both sides of the Atlantic. Some analysts are now going out on a limb and suggesting future prices well over $100 for the white metal.
Silver has always been more volatile than gold, which may have scared off some investors, but the outlook appears to be ...
