The Lupus Alliance of LIQ Introduces, "Ask Our Chef"

BELLMORE, NY, August 06, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Lupus Alliance of America LIQ Affiliate, located in Bellmore New York has recently added a new section to their website that they hope will help those who have lupus, as well as other chronic conditions. Ask Our Chef, located on their website at http://www.lupusliqueens.org/askourchef will be updated monthly with two separate sections. The first section will feature a new healthy recipe each month and the second section will answer questions from members of the public, website readers, and members of the Alliance about food, healthy eating with an autoimmune or chronic condition, and more.

The chef of "Ask our Chef" is Christy Michelle, who began cooking and experimenting with food at a very young age, so it was only natural that she would choose to pursue a career in the culinary world. She attended The French Culinary Institute in Manhattan and continued on to ALMA International School of Cuisine in Colorno in Italy, where she studied food, wine, nutrition and Italian history. Christy worked on the line at several Michelin starred restaurants, as a private chef, as well as an instructor at a cooking school. She is among the 5% of Chefs in the world who are able to apply molecular gastronomy to their cuisine. She continues to further her education in this art.
Having Lupus and an extensive knowledge of food, has given her a different perspective and very personal approach to the effect that food and nutrition has on herself and on others who suffer from Lupus. She has been an active member of the Lupus Community ever since her diagnosis in 2001, and has been instrumental in making the public aware of Lupus and its effects on the victims and their families.
