Appnovation Technologies, a Vancouver-based IT Services Company, is excited to announce that they have become an official systems integration partner of Eucalyptus Systems and will now offer on-premise cloud infrastructure to Appnovation clients.

2011-08-06
VANCOUVER, BC, August 06, 2011 (Press-News.org) Appnovation Technologies, a Vancouver-based IT Services Company, is excited to announce that they have become an official systems integration partner of Eucalyptus Systems and will now offer on-premise cloud infrastructure to Appnovation clients.

Eucalyptus is an open source software platform that lets customers implement Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) private and hybrid clouds using existing data center infrastructure. Eucalyptus is interface compatible with Amazon's Web Services (AWS), making it possible to move workloads between AWS and the data center without modifying the code that implements them. Eucalyptus also works with most of the currently available Linux distributions, including Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), openSUSE, Debian and Fedora. Similarly, Eucalyptus can use a variety of virtualization technologies including VMware, Xen, and KVM to implement the cloud abstractions it supports.

"Appnovation believes that cloud is the model for the future of IT infrastructure. We are excited to become a partner of Eucalyptus to provide cloud solutions for our clients," says Appnovation CEO Arnold Leung.

Eucalyptus on-premise private and hybrid cloud software lets organizations implement enterprise-scale IaaS using their virtualized infrastructure, without modification, special-purpose hardware or reconfiguration. With Eucalyptus, users can make more efficient use of their computing resources, increase agility and deploy new applications faster, while protecting sensitive data and reducing capital expenditures. In the past year, one in five Fortune 100 companies started up a Eucalyptus cloud deployment, as part of the more than 25,000 Eucalyptus deployments across government organizations, academic institutions and private enterprises worldwide.

"Appnovation delivers flexible open source-based solutions for its clients ranging from non-profits to Fortune 500 companies, and we are thrilled that they have chosen Eucalyptus as their preferred cloud management platform," said David Butler, Eucalyptus vice president of marketing. "Through Eucalyptus, Appnovation customers can now build highly elastic private and hybrid clouds using secure data center resources to enable dynamic, cost-effective scaling."
