Synchronicity Steps In To Help Filmmakers Wrap Up First Feature
Openings is an independent movie that breaks ground into new territory, exploring synchronicity in a way that has never been done before.
THORNTON, CO, August 12, 2011
Local Colorado filmmakers, Mark and Kim McGinnis, are in the process of finishing up principal photography on their first feature film, Openings. One of the main themes of this independent film is synchronicity. Psychologist, Carl Jung, coined the word "synchronicity" in the 1920s, and according to Jung it means a 'meaningful coincidence.'As it turns out, synchronicity played a role throughout the production of Openings. One meaningful coincidence that played itself out was through Mark and Kim meeting Dr. Thom Rogers, founder of Optimal Modification, Inc. (OMI). The filmmakers had been trying for the past year to enlist the aid of some high-profile people in the new-age/spiritual field to add to their list of credits, but had little success. Then, when a film-related trip to the Austin area came about, Openings co-producer, Lisa Gerstner, suggested that Mark and Kim meet her friend of many years, Thom Rogers.
Rogers not only wound up being in the film, he gave the filmmakers a very unique gift. He gave them what is known as an energenic attunement session for Openings. Through the session, Rogers aligns the energy of the individuals of a business and aligns their intentions, mission and vision of their business to the quantum field, the field of infinite possibilities.
Well, after that first session, and then a second session a couple of months later, the filmmakers met a woman through a random occurrence, who befriended Mark and subsequently invited him and his team to the ISSEEM Conference, which is a gathering of exactly the type of high-profile people that Mark and Kim McGinnis were looking for. By the end of the 3-day conference the filmmakers had 5 of the 6 featured speakers agree to appear in the film as interviewees.
ISSEEM stands for The International Society for the Study of Subtle Energies. The 2011 conference was held in Westminster, Colorado just 7 miles from the filmmakers' home. So after, the June conference, here are just a couple of the notables Mark and Kim added to Openings' credits: Dr. Bruce Lipton (The Biology of Belief), Amit Goswami (What the Bleep), and 6-time Grammy nominee, Peter Kater.
