Free iTunes For "Heavy Metal Fans" Program Extended Through August

LONG BEACH, CA, August 19, 2011 (Press-News.org) "Heavy Metal" has been resonating with music fans so far this month as evidenced by the popularity of an iTunes giveaway by a company dedicated to "extreme recycling." 1-800-GOT-SCRAP will continue to give away free music to those taking advantage of its home pick-up service through the end of August. Those with large-scale metal objects like old dishwashers, refrigerators, weight sets, etc. are encouraged to call 1-800-GOT-SCRAP and the items will be removed at no cost to the homeowner and those making the call will receive an iTunes gift card valued at anywhere between $5 and $25. (Items less than 100 lbs could be subject to a freight charge.)

Typically, 1-800-GOT-SCRAP picks up such items from your house for $50. Those looking to earn cash may drop off their discarded items at an affiliated recycling center for cash. The items are then shredded, sorted into various pure metals (e.g., steel, aluminum, copper, iron) and shipped overseas to be re-purposed into new appliances and automobiles.
