OLNEY, MD, August 25, 2011 (Press-News.org) Registration is now open for businesses, agencies and non-profit organizations interested in exhibiting at the Olney Chamber of Commerce's 32nd Annual Community Night, the oldest business expo in Montgomery County.
The event is scheduled for 5 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5 at Longwood Community Center, 19035 Georgia Ave., Brookeville, 1.5 miles north of Route 108. Admission is free.
Community Night features a business expo of 100+ displays and the Taste of Olney where the area's premier restaurants present their tasty offerings. Registration can be completed online at http://www.olneymd.org, by mail, by fax or in person at the Chamber's Office and Visitors Center, 3460 Olney-Laytonsville Rd., Olney.
This year's Community Night will be a collection site for food and financial donations to help re-stock the shelves of Olney Help, a local food pantry. Attendees are asked to bring donations of canned goods and shelf-stable foods, such as powdered milk, rice, pasta and cereal. For more than 40 years, Olney Help has provided food and emergency assistance to local families and individuals.
"Community Night is a tradition for the Olney area business community, restaurants, organizations and residents. It's an event that's unique to the Olney area. It's an outstanding venue for companies and organizations to reach consumers and other businesses in the affluent Olney area," says Robyn Quinter, event co-chair. "B-2-B or B-2-C, there are great marketing opportunities." Event attendance has grown significantly in the past few years. Last year, Maryland-National Capital Park Police estimated nearly 3,000 residents enjoyed the delicious food, displays and exhibits, raffles, door prizes, silent auction and children's activities.
