DETROIT, MI, September 02, 2011 (Press-News.org) Newly renovated Willy's Overland Lofts will be the site of the 2011 DINING BY DESIGN fundraiser put on by DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting Aids (DIFFA).
Beginning September 22nd with the COCKTAILS BY DESIGN/ARTworks Auction, and ending with the exclusive DINING BY DESIGN gala dinner on September 24th, art amateurs and enthusiasts alike can experience artworks from premier artist from around the region while enjoying the atmosphere inside the Willy's Overland Lofts.
DINING BY DESIGN is a one-of-a-kind, spectacular event that showcases local talent in the design, artistic and architectural community, who are then paired with Table Sponsors or hosts to create three-dimensional dining installations that are works of art and wild beyond imagination.
DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS is one of the largest funders of HIV/AIDS services and education organizations in the U.S. Since its founding in 1984, DIFFA has mobilized the immense resources of the design communities to provide more than $38 million to hundreds of AIDS organizations nationwide.
Built in 1912 and located in the historic Midtown neighborhood of Detroit, the Willy's Overland Lofts are best known for producing the famous WWII military jeeps. The building has been since renovated to include 75 residential lofts and first floor retail space.
