SARASOTA, FL, September 02, 2011 (Press-News.org) It's a long way from the posh environment of a high-end beauty salon and spa to the rigors and austerity associated with military service. Cutting Loose Salon bridged that gap for 65 service women in the Sarasota Bradenton area by treating them to products and services that appeal to their feminine side. "For the most part, female soldiers have to put femininity aside while on duty serving their country. We wanted to give these dedicated women the chance to feel pampered and also make them feel appreciated," said Coral Pleas, owner of the luxury salon.
After the inspiration from Molly Dennehy of Cutting Loose, the team at Cutting Loose went into action, contacting their vendors and requesting donations of beauty products. Prestigious vendors including Repêchage, Bumble and Bumble, Face Stockholm and Paul Mitchell, responded with a variety of "girly girl" offerings including skin care products, shampoos, conditioners, hair styling products, make up bags, and blow dryers for each of the 65 soldiers. Paul Mitchell was especially generous as they donated $10,000 in value to the cause. Home Depot donated the boxes that housed the beauty treats.
"We encourage our employees to give of themselves and make a difference in their community. We put this philosophy into action with Project Pamper", said Coral Pleas.
The salon donated a gift certificate for a complimentary blow dry, make-up application, and chair massage for each one of the soldiers receiving the care package. Total donations were valued at approximately $12,000.
