Bayside Rocks Takes It Up A Notch

Recycles, Supports Local, Adds Extreme Sports and Initiates Environmental Song Competition

2011-09-16
HALLANDALE, FL, September 16, 2011 (Press-News.org) Bayside Rocks is proud to be working with CityGreenLife.com (CGL) to create a "green consciousness" throughout its event and to decrease the festival's environmental impact. CGL will provide a platform upon which Bayside Rocks can further push its "green" identity at the local and national level.

CityGreenLife will be implementing several new initiatives for this year's Bayside Rocks event that will decrease the event's total carbon footprint. For example, oil from food vendors will be recycled by a South Florida-based bio-diesel company, and composting and recycling stations will be set up throughout the venue. LEDs will illuminate the main stage. A green vendor area will offer attendees a wide range of eco-friendly products, services and food. To truly integrate the local farming and holistic community, Bayside Rocks will even include a local farmers' market and yoga demonstrations for free at the start of the event.

For the first time, Bayside Rocks will host a skate and BMX area that will be open throughout the day for all ages. Bicycling to the event will be promoted and encouraged through the bike valet service offered at Bayside Rocks.

A contest for the local music community has also been introduced: The Bayside Rocks Environmental Songwriting Competition. The winner gets to perform live on stage!

The festival features world music headliners Bunny Wailer and The Original Wailers and a unique group of artists whose musical brilliance is eclipsed only by their messages of love and hope.

"Our ultimate goal is to uplift the spirit and inspire people of every ilk to give of themselves to help make the world a better place in which to live," said Alfonso D'Niscio Brooks, CEO of ROCKAZ MVMT, the company producing the Festival. "It's great to have fun, but it's imperative that we do it in an environmentally responsible way. That's what my company and this festival are all about."

CityGreenLife.com offers smart options for better living. CGL's mission is to elevate consumers "green consciousness" through innovative initiatives, projects & partner development.
