FURY Films Produces Documentary about American Muslims
The full length documentary film 10fwd captures the stories of everyday Americans who happened to be Muslim on September 11, ten years ago.

FURY Films is proud to announce the imminent streaming and DVD release of the documentary film 10FWD directed and produced by New York-based filmmaker Khaled Sawaf. The film will be available for online streaming, 7-day rental and physical DVD purchase via Amazon.com, and is already scheduled on more than a dozen campuses across the U.S.10FWD (Pronounced "Ten Forward") does not feature any famous super sheikhs or mega scholars. 10FWD is about the lives, views and stories of regular Americans who happened to be Muslims on that fateful September day ten years ago. The filmmaker and crew have set out to capture something different: the images and voices of everyday Muslims added to the political, social and economic debate surrounding the 10th 9/11 anniversary.
The filmmaker's journey across the country is motivated by his eagerness to listen to Muslims on the ground and find out what they are doing to speak out against the extremist elements within their faith on one hand and to defend themselves against islamophobia and hate speech on the other. As he drives state to state, town to town and mosque to mosque, he witnesses the work they are doing in their local communities to advance inter-faith dialogue and understanding. He looks for evidence of radicalization and asks the tough questions that the average non-Muslim would be too embarrassed to ask. Questions like: "Why is America afraid of you?" and "Why do you want Sharia Law to be the law of the land?" These questions are not new, but the filmmaker gets some very unexpected answers.
By traveling all 50 states and meeting with every Muslim community of significance, Sawaf creates a perspective that is unique: no-one before has attempted to visit, interview and record so extensive an insight into Muslims in America.
