Preh Opens Second Plant in Mexico

NOVI, MI, September 16, 2011 (Press-News.org) Preh, Inc. officially opened its second manufacturing facility late last month in Monterrey, Mexico, according to Preh North American President Nick Lontscharitsch. The plant represents a $10 million investment in furthering Preh's global production capabilities.

At the grand opening ceremony company officials announced the beginning of production operations in the new plant that has 90,000 square feet of additional manufacturing space.

In his remarks before the gathering, Dr. Michael Roesnick, president and CEO of Preh GmbH, said, "Our decision to build a second plant here in Monterrey was because of our positive experience with our nearly 500 highly motivated employees. Our managers and the rest of the team have established an excellent Preh-quality factory which is well-known and well-accepted by our customers."

Based on the initial plant's excellent performance record, and the already booked new business, the second facility needed to be larger as well as have the potential to provide further growth. Near the new plant lies a large, undeveloped 45,000-square-foot property that provides additional space for future manufacturing site expansion.

Roesnick continued, "We found the opportunity right here in Guadalupe, Monterrey. Together with our partners, we were able to construct a brand-new 90,000-square foot final assembly plant and our current plant will stay as a preproduction location with advanced injection-molding and paint operations. The final assembly lines for customers BMW, Ford, General Motors and Volkswagen were gradually moved from the old facility into the new production site."
