PGA National Resort & Spa will host the 2011 Battle for iBAND starting on October 7th every Friday night for four consecutive weeks at the resort's iBAR.

PGA National Resort & Spa -- home of the PGA TOUR Honda Classic and five award-winning championship courses - in partnership with Gater 98.7 FM 4 Orange Vodka and Sobieski Vodka, will host the 2011 Battle for iBAND starting on October 7th every Friday night for four consecutive weeks at the resort's iBAR. Six bands will battle it out over the four week period, for the official title of PGA National Resort and Spa's iBAND.On Friday, October 7th, from 8pm to 10pm, the competition will begin, hosted by Gater FM's On-Air Personality, Jodi Stewart . Two bands per event will perform back-to-back 45 minute sets each. The winning band will be chosen by a panel of local celebrity judges, including the Palm Beach Post's very own Leslie Streeter. The lucky winner each week will move forward to the final competition level on October 28th.
Then on Friday, October 28th, the three finalists will compete and the winning iBAND will be chosen. Live performances of the six featured bands will be posted online at http://www.GaterRocks.com, where 98.7 FM listeners and locals are encouraged to view footage online and come out in support of their favorite bands, as the public will greatly influence the results through their voting. The winning band takes home the grand prize: a seasonal contract with PGA National Resort and Spa, the official status of iBAND at iBAR, concert tickets, and other great prizes.
Friday, November 18th, the winning iBAND will take center stage in their debut performance live at iBAR, where the season of great music begins. Locals are welcome to join in on the fun, in addition to resort guests. There will be plenty of prize giveaways, drink specials, and of course live music throughout the night.
