Chupa Launches Marketplace for Mobile App Components

Now you can cash in your code, or develop an iPhone app on a dime.

2011-10-19
HAMPSHIRE, IL, October 19, 2011 (Press-News.org) Co-founder Stefano Argiolas today announced Chupa, a community marketplace for buying and selling source code, and components for Mobile Development - at extremely competitive prices.

With items starting as low as $12, the highly anticipated website will be a one-stop destination for developers who seek to access to a huge mobile app library of ready-made components, or to sell their own code to a global audience.

With the ability to publish, acquire and monetize source code, developers are already turning to Chupa to shave dollars and hours of the development of mobile applications.

"By purchasing code at the fraction of the cost it would take to develop it from scratch, Chupa is the ultimate resource for mobile developers who are pressed for time and operating on tight budgets," says Stefano Argiolas.

What's more, mobile developers have already embraced the opportunity to cash in on their previous work. Unique to Chupa, developers are able to adapt and re-use parts or entire code from previous projects, including iPhone and Android apps.

Launched initially as invite only, Chupa rapidly acquired over 300 members, as developers wanted to take advantage of the 80 percent commission for each sale.

The mobile application market could grow to $17.5 billion in 2012, according to a study by GetJar, the second largest mobile app store in the world.

"No company wants to be left behind. Companies are investing in mobile application development at explosive rates. Chupa was born out of the immediate need for developers to access, affordable and adaptable code, while providing a new source of profit for developers with portfolios of high quality code," says Paolo De Santis, Co-founder of Chupa.

Stefano Argiolas and Paolo De Santis are co-founders of Dlite, a multimedia digital marketing company that provided mobile campaign and experience solutions to brands such as Nike, Renault, 20th Century Fox and Nokia.
