Foresters UK Create Christmas Magic for Underprivileged Children

The Appeal asks people to buy an extra toy or present and drop it off to a collection point or make a 'virtual' toy donation on line. The toys and cash are used to ensure underprivileged children in the local area receive a gift at Christmas.

2011-11-15
KENT, ENGLAND, November 15, 2011 (Press-News.org) Every year, there are children across the UK who wake up on Christmas morning with nothing. Foresters UK, part of the international financial services organization, is proud to once again sponsor Bauer Radio's Cash for Kids Christmas Toy Appeal in 2011 to help keep the Christmas dream alive for these less fortunate children.

The Appeal which runs across the Magic Radio network and also Kerrang and Wave 105 FM, is supported by Foresters and asks people to buy an extra toy or present and drop it off to a collection point or make a 'virtual' toy donation on line. The toys and cash are used to ensure underprivileged children in the local area receive a gift at Christmas.

However, Cash for Kids have highlighted that there is always a shortage of presents donated which are suitable for babies.

So as well as offering financial support to the campaign, nearly 1,000 Foresters members have been making up some special gift packs for underprivileged babies at events taking place across the UK.

Alexis Bovington, Membership Development Specialist at Foresters said, "It's hard to believe that there are children across the UK, including babies, who have nothing on Christmas morning. The great thing about the Cash for Kids Christmas Toy Appeal is that it brings joy to those children. Foresters recognises the importance of family well being, not only through financial stability, but also through family time. These events have been a great way for our members to spend time with their families, whilst really making a difference to others. We are very proud to be part of this campaign and bring some sparkle to a child's Christmas."

Magic 828's Cash for Kids Charity manager, Katy Winterschladen, "We had a great time together, festively dressed sorting and wrapping up the baby gifts. These gifts will make a massive impact on disadvantaged children in Leeds and West Yorkshire who are at risk of waking up to nothing on Christmas morning."

Foresters has partnered Cash for Kids on several local projects since 2009, including the Christmas Toy Appeal and helped to create the Cash for Kids Family Day in 2011. They have helped raise around GBP2 million which provided grants and toys to over 200,000 underprivileged children and families in the UK

This year's Toy Appeal launched across the Magic AM network on 14th November.
