Parvez. A. Shahid, senior board member of the Group also attended the event and he was very impressed to see the community together under one roof. He assured his support to assist the community wherever possible.
One of the key questions of the event were to explore how businesses of all sizes can help their community and how local communities can help local businesses and have a dramatic impact on their sustainability and growth.
Creation Development Trust is a social enterprise and registered charity based in the Garw Valley who has been running a time network called 'The Timecentre' at Blaengarw Workmen's Hall since 2004. The largest timebank of its type in the UK, the project works on the simple principle that for every hour of time that a member gives to their community via the Timecentre, they can take an hour back by attending a wide range of time-entry events, including concerts, theatre, cinema, childcare activities, trips and other events. The model recognises that communities are full of unused skills, talents, knowledge, experience and abilities, and has the potential to transform the culture of volunteering in the 21st century.
Creation's Chief Executive, Dawn Davies spoke about the event next week, explaining "The aim of the event was to bring together expertise and inspiration from all four sectors: trade unions, private, public and the community.
