Women's Business Development Center Receives $150,000 in Grants

New grants will support services and programs that accelerate women's business ownership

CHICAGO, IL, November 25, 2011

The Women's Business Development Center (WBDC), headquartered in Chicago, has received $150,000 in grants to support its various programs. Providing grants were the following nonprofit organizations and businesses:

McCormick Foundation, $50,000, for the Child Care Business Program and Child Care Business Expo;

Bank of America, $25,000 for the Entrepreneurial Training and Technical Assistance programs;

Fifth Third Bank, $15,000, for the Child Care Business Program and Child Care Business Expo;

Peoples Energy Corp (Integrys), $5,000, for the Child Care Business Program and Latina Business Program; and,

McGowan Small Family Fund, $5,000, for the Child Care Business Program, Child Care Business Expo, Latina Business Program and Business Start-up Program

A nationally and internationally recognized women's business assistance center celebrating its 25th year of operation in 2011, the WBDC provides a continuum of business development services to prospective and established women entrepreneurs including counseling, training, financial, certification and procurement assistance in Spanish and English.
