Long & Foster Partners With TERMINIX to Offer Buyers Exclusive Savings

Long & Foster buyers will receive a free termite inspection for real estate transactions

2010-09-23
MIDDLEBURG, VA, September 23, 2010 (Press-News.org) Long & Foster Home Service Connections has announced an exclusive partnership with Terminix, a national leader in termite and pest control. All Long & Foster buyers can opt-in to receive a free termite inspection for real estate transactions, valued at $125.

Partnering with Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc., the largest independently-held residential real estate company in the United States, Terminix will provide Long & Foster buyers a Wood Destroying Insect Report upon completion of the inspection, which is completed at no charge.

"Termite inspections are typically required by lenders as part of the home-buying process, so partnering with a quality company like Terminix is an incredible value for our homebuyers," explained Jeffrey S. Detwiler, president and chief operating officer for The Long & Foster Companies. "The Long & Foster Home Service Connection program aims to continually expand the convenience and value that consumers can expect when they turn to Long & Foster to buy or sell a home, and offering a free termite inspection to all buyers from a reputable provider like Terminix is just one of many ways buyers receive unsurpassed service and value from Long & Foster."

A termite inspection for a real estate transaction is a visual inspection by a licensed pest control professional that provides the lender and the buyer with information relative to the current and past termite activity and infestations, highlighting existing termite damage, conditions around the home that are conducive for termites to flourish, and potential recommendations for the control of termites.

As part of its exclusive affiliation with Long & Foster's Home Service Connection program, Terminix is also offering to those who qualify its Termite Inspection and Protection Plan for $29.99 per month (renewable annually). While under contract, this plan provides treatment and termite damage repair in the event of future infestation and includes an annual comprehensive inspection.

"At Terminix, we have a rich tradition of providing superior service and innovative solutions to our customers for more than 80 years. We're pleased Long & Foster places so much emphasis on a program that prioritizes both," stated Steve Good, senior vice president of business development of Terminix. "We are excited to have the opportunity to serve Long & Foster customers in the ways they have come to expect from service providers associated with Home Service Connections."

Long & Foster's Home Service Connections offers sales associates and their customers peace of mind when hiring someone to work in their home, having put service providers through a rigorous review process. The program offers access to quality services including movers, painters, roofers and contractors, and extends discount pricing to Long & Foster customers for household items such as appliances, electronics and security systems.

Long & Foster Home Service Connections' selective vendor program features hundreds of listings, offering a one-stop resource for Long & Foster sales associates and their customers. "From real estate professionals to mortgages, insurance and title services all the way down to moving services, Long & Foster helps customers manage every step of the real estate transaction—resulting in consistent quality and peace of mind for buyers and sellers," Detwiler said.

Three Buyers Fighting for One Spanish Property? Not Unusual in Murcia's Camposol

2010-09-23
Whilst the Spanish property market is in many ways a shadow of its early 2000s self, there are certain regions that are vastly outperforming others. Take the month of June in Murcia for example. According to the National Institute of Statistics 1,308 homes changed hands that month in Murcia compared with a national average of just 99. And why is this? Price. At Camposol in Mazarron you can pick up a two bedroom fully-furnished terraced home for 50,000 euros (41,000 pounds) - where else in Southern Spain can you do that? Mazarron's Camposol is quite unique in Spain right ...
