LOUSVILLE, KY, December 23, 2011 (Press-News.org) The new Applied Comfort 16 is a basic PTAC unit, with minimal options. Currently the 16 is offered only in a cooling/electric heat and hydronic configuration. A heat pump version may be offered later in 2012. "The term 'basic' in no way reflects on the quality", states Greg McNary. McNary also added, "Applied Comfort Products adhere to strict quality standards, and all units are thoroughly tested at each stage of development and manufacturing. By keeping the unit basic, we are able to keep design costs down and bring the product line to market faster. What we are offering is a top quality PTAC unit at a very reasonable price". Some of the features of the Applied Comfort 16 include:
- Touchpad unit mounted controls with large LED readout
- Remote thermostat/ EMS ready
- Two speed fan control
- Electronic temperature limiting
- Fresh air supply door
Current configurations for the Applied Comfort 16 include 9000, 12000, and 15000 BTU cooling, with 15, 20, or 30 AMP electric strip heat. Available voltages are 208, 208/230 (with LCDI), and 277. All units are certified for use in the US and Canada by Electrical Safety Authority and CSA-Canada/US. In addition to AAF Series 16 (currently sold by McQuay), the units are designed to be a direct replacement for the following:
- Retroaire RC10
- Islandaire EZ16
- Adirondack Aire/Coldpoint 16
- Simonaire SS16
- Ice-Air RS16
