"People see all of the people at the airport and start thinking: 'this is a great place to have a business!'" said Silvas. "But there are always elements that can change that." In fact, there are many elements at play in an airport from increased security to crowd flow that can change as quickly as an airline company switches terminals. Knowing how to manage and mitigate all of these factors is crucial to running a successful airport concession.
