RationalPlan Project Management Software Is Now Available In Spanish

Other features include the addition of a new resource type - cost resource, the possibility to sort clients and resources, better notification mechanisms, improved printing and much more

2011-12-23
DOLJ, ROMANIA, December 23, 2011 (Press-News.org) RationalPlan version 3.25 was just released. The most important thing to be mentioned in the new version is the availability in Spanish language. Other features include the addition of a new resource type - cost resource, the possibility to sort clients and resources, better notification mechanisms, improved printing and much more.

RationalPlan is a project management software designed around the principle "easy to use" and can serve many types of users starting from novices, those that need an alternative to Microsoft Project, users that need an environment to handle multiple projects and up to companies that need a server solution with concurrent access for multiple users. It has been developed to help project managers keep their projects on time and within budget.

Important changes added to this version:

availability in Spanish language
improved printing
added cost resources
added accrual notion for costs on resources and assignments
improved notification mechanism
improved behavior for different time zones
better handling of external tasks from MS Project

According to Instituto Cervantes nearly 500 million people across the world speak Spanish. In both the US and Canada, Spanish is the most popular foreign language to learn. Over the past decade, the demand for Spanish Language courses worldwide has almost doubled. The Hispanic population in the United States has grown by 60% in just one decade. At present there are 35,5 million Hispanics, representing 12,5% of the total population. "Taking all these in consideration it was an obvious need to have our products also translated in Spanish language." says Gabriel Toader, CEO at Stand By Soft.

Printing was improved to allow users to hide the header and the footer if they have such needs. This way the printing area can be increased to display more information.

One important feature is the addition of cost type resources. This kind of resources are useful when users need to manage fixed costs but at the same time to also have them individualized. It can include costs with traveling, training, consultancy and so on. These costs are usually fixed costs that do not have any kind of relation with the time and hence do not use rates per hour. This is why it can not be associated neither with human nor with material resources.

And in order to have a full benefit from the usage of cost resources RationalPlan team also introduced the notion of cost accrual. This enables managers to control the way costs are incurred. At the start or end of the task or prorated that is equally distributed over the duration of the task.

On the Server side there was improved the notification mechanism. Users with Resource role can now have the possibility to notify the project manager the status of the tasks on which they were assigned. Each time they update their tasks the project manager gets notified and hence it is kept up to date with the evolution of the project. This is a further step for RationalPlan in becoming a better project tracking software.

Many more enhancements were added including sorting possibility for resources and clients, better handling of external tasks from Microsoft Project and a correct way of working with different time zones.

RationalPlan suite includes:
RationalPlan Single Project - the alternative for Microsoft Project and the perfect solution for novice or accidental project managers
RationalPlan Multi Project - project management software for multiple projects, projects that are interconnected through dependencies and share common resource
RationalPlan Project Viewer - free project management software viewer, the solution for anyone (from project stakeholders to team workers) to view projects details
RationalPlan Project Server - a centralized place to manage the company's projects while offering concurrent access to different users
