About Our Guest
Steven McIntosh is the Chief Information Officer for TechSoup Global. TechSoup Global is a nonprofit organization that provides technology resources and knowledge to NGOs around the world. He manages a team of 50+ full-time employees (Software Engineering, QA, Infrastructure and Project Management) with interfaces to development teams in Warsaw and London.
Steven is the former Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President for Jackson Family Enterprises. In that role, Steven was responsible for the management of information systems and technology for Jackson Family Wines and Jackson Family Enterprises, as well as its foreign affiliates. Steven joined Jackson Family Enterprises in December, 2001. His team consisted of 50 full-time employees and 5 to 10 contractors and consultants.
Steven understands the importance that IT has on the bottom line. Working with all the company's groups, Steven and his team identify opportunities, structure IT solutions and deliver measurable returns to the business. The prior 15 years, he held numerous roles including Vice President of Information Technology for Sega of America. While in the position Steven led key projects in applications and infrastructure that exposed business processes and provided the opportunity to optimize the organization's overall operations.
In addition, he has held senior technology management positions with Hitachi Ltd. and Software Publishing Corporation. Prior to working in Information Technology Management, Steven spent several years as an IT consultant with leading management-consulting firm, Arthur D. Little.
Steven has been featured in publications such as InformationWeek and speaks at numerous events educating others on "How to apply technology to business problems and apply solutions."
Active in community service, Steven served on the Board of Directors of American Red Cross. He has also served on Novell Customer Council, the Avotus Customer Advisory Board, was a founding member of CIO Magazine's Executive Council and was a Board member of the Santa Rosa United Soccer Club.
Steven earned his bachelor's degree in engineering from Harvard University. He received his M.B.A. in Finance from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Steven lives with his wife in Santa Rosa and they have two sons. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf.
