MIAMI, FL, January 11, 2012 (Press-News.org) For the first time in its 13-year history, Dade Medical College has been recognized by the South Florida Business Journal as one of the market's top colleges and universities. Ranked 14th by fall 2011 enrollment, the list places Dade Medical among well-known institutions like Miami Dade College, Florida International University, Broward College and the University of Miami.
"We are extremely honored to be included in this year's edition and congratulate all the other schools on the achievement," says Dade Medical College President & CEO Ernesto Perez. "One of our goals is to continue to offer outcome-based education and job opportunities in the healthcare sector to more and more Floridians and this milestone clearly demonstrate we are doing so."
Dade Medical College is in the process of relocating their Hialeah Campus to Miami Lakes and establishing new campuses in West Palm Beach and Jacksonville, which would bring their total to six. The current campus total of four and average student age of 25 places them in a tie for fifth-most and fifth-youngest in both categories on the list. Also notable is that Dade Medical College is the newest school to make list.
According to president and publisher Melanie Dickinson, The South Florida Business Journal, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, publishes the annual Book of Lists as "a comprehensive, easy-to-use tool that offers all the important information you need to know about the region's top companies, organized by industries such as finance, real estate, health care, technology, professional services and construction."
