PHOENIX, AZ, September 24, 2010 (Press-News.org) Startup Weekend is coming to Phoenix October 22-24, 2010, and will be held downtown at CO-HOOTS, the fantastic new co-working space. Help us tell the story of passionate entrepreneurs coming together and creating new ventures.
Startup Weekend is a 54-hour startup event that provides the networking, resources, and incentives for individuals and teams to start with an idea and launch a company. Startup Weekend's motto is "Build Community. Start Companies. No Talk. All Action."
The event kicks off Friday evening when attendees pitch their ideas in rapid-fire - 60 seconds to cover the market opportunity and a plan of action. The best ideas are selected by vote and teams develop around each concept. Throughout Saturday and Sunday, teams build their products and business plan, then fine tuning their pitch on Sunday afternoon with the help of expert mentors. Some work nonstop, some never leave the event, and some never come down from their caffeine and adrenaline high.
Legal, business development, marketing, and technical mentors will work closely with each team to ensure they reach the finish line for the Sunday evening presentations. A panel of experienced judges will choose a winning company, which will receive pitch sessions and mentoring with local investors, free office space, and other services to get the business successfully launched.
The event is open to anyone interested in the local entrepreneurial community, and it puts them in a setting where anything is possible. To date, almost 1,000 startups have launched and 20,000 plus entrepreneurs have been inspired at hundreds of events in more than 100 cities worldwide. Teams have even started to generate revenue during the event, and many participants have succeeded to obtaining angel and venture capital investment. None of these statistics take into account the amazing networking, ongoing professional relationships, and phenomenal experiences that happen at every event.
Why Phoenix?
This year's Startup Weekend is the first in Downtown Phoenix and is designed to tap into the incredible creativity that is developing. Hosted in the CO-HOOTS co-working space (www.incohoots.com) at 825 North 7th Street (in the newly renovated Bayless Grocery Building), attendees will be working in the heart of Phoenix's art district, which will add a unique dimension to this event.
Phoenix Startup Weekend has secured substantial sponsorship and support from Valley investors, technology companies, entrepreneurs, and community organizations.

Kenward has created a four-step stress management system that he says is simple and easy-to use.
