GEBOUW, CURACAO, February 08, 2012 (Press-News.org) Lock is excited to announce the new addition to their LockPRO ELITE team.
Hailing from Espinho, Portugal, Pedro discovered poker through friends at the end of 2007. His poker career started by playing a tournament for the first time, the side event of the Espinho 2007 Main event, and he eventually won the same tournament. After that win he devoted himself to learning MTT strategy and never looked back. At that time, Pedro worked in a security company in Portugal, and later on, he started to fully dedicate himself to poker, becoming a professional in 2009. In 2010 he became the only player to reach ITM in all 3 Portuguese Main Events and he won one of them, the Figueira Poker Tour Main Event.
While at the same time as becoming a familiar face in the Portuguese Poker scene, playing live cash games and tournaments, with his professionalism he started investing in playing online, and grinded his way up, becoming a winning player in all limits played so far. His multi tabling abilities, while at the same time remaining extremely focused, allowed him to become one of the biggest rakers worldwide.
"Pedro is an excellent addition to our incredible team of players!" says Jennifer Larson CEO of Lock. "As we reach across the world with our Pros we continue to get a deeper grasp of what becoming the top online poker room worldwide really means. We are determined to be the number one choice worldwide!"
"I am delighted to join Lock Poker, a professional team of the highest level, with the Top international and Portuguese players, counting in its ranks with players of international reputation," says Pedro. "Lock Poker is a room of the highest quality, to which I hope to bring my best contribution, at the same time as the exchange of experiences in this vast team will allow both personal development, and to Lock Poker itself as a poker room, continuing its growth and increasing brand awareness."
"Pedro is a pure young blood "horse". He knows what he wants, he sets his goals and he goes after that with passion and determination and this is what Lock stands for," says Francisco "yuranpt" Santos. "Pedro is a close friend of mine and I feel honoured to have him with us. We have the same dream to be the 1st Portuguese to win a bracelet."

Lab Rescue of the LRCP to Hold Senior Lab Adoption Event
2012-02-08
Lab Rescue of the Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac announced today it will hold a special adoption event for Labs eight or more years old from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, at the PetSmart store at 11860 Spectrum Center, Reston, Va.
Lab Rescue is holding this novel event because senior Labs are turning up in shelters faster than the group can find adopters and foster homes for them. This trend, which appears to be due in large part to the bad economy, may lead to an increase in healthy senior Labs being euthanized in the shelters.
