DUBAI, UAE, February 23, 2012 (Press-News.org) The 2012 Emirates Airline Festival of Literature will get underway in Dubai on Tuesday March 6th.
As the Middle East's largest celebration of the written and spoken word, the five-day event is set to bring 115 authors, writers and speakers from around the world to the emirate.
More than 30,000 people are expected to attend this year's festival, which will feature the likes of Terry Wogan, Kate Adie, David Nicholls, Patrick French, Tom Rob Smith and Jacqueline Wilson.
Wogan is due to appear on the festival's opening night at the Al Mamzar Theatre, where the veteran broadcaster will talk about his radio career and his relationship with Ireland.
Other speakers taking part in the opening session on March 6th include Imtiaz Dharker, John Agard, Yang Lian and Daljit Nagra. Tickets for the event can be purchased online, priced between 125 and 195 dirhams (GBP21.60 and GBP33.80).
Nicholls, whose bestselling novel One Day was recently made into a film, will appear at the Dubai Festival City heritage venue on March 7th along with acclaimed Palestinian poet Mourid Barghouti.
