LAS VEGAS, NV, February 23, 2012 (Press-News.org) iCare, the enterprise cloud EHR provider, announced today that the company has launched its new product, iCare EHR, at the 2012 HIMSS conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. The launch marks a first for such a product in the healthcare industry. Never before has an organization focused solely on delivering an electronic health record system to large-scale healthcare facilities using the cloud.
Jim Riley, the company's CEO, is no stranger to industry disruption using the cloud as its platform. Riley started Learn.com in 1999, a cloud-based learning management system leader, which was acquired by California, based Taleo Corporation (NASDAQ:TLEO) in 2010 for $125 Million. Taleo is currently finalizing its own acquisition with Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL) for approximately $1.9 Billion.
"The healthcare industry is the last major sector to embrace the cloud and IT budgets are skyrocketing needlessly because of it," said Riley. "Facilities need to focus efforts and capital on patient care, not software. It was our goal to be the first to market with a solution that is cloud-based and features full enterprise EHR capabilities."
Until now, many midsized facilities simply could not afford to implement a full EHR which would enable them to take part in the government's financial incentives provided by the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH). Moreover, enterprise-class facilities were mired by internal politics and massive development and operations teams needed to support installed systems. With iCare, what was once thought to be a hindrance, is no longer, and the option to innovate is back on the table.
The company has been in the research and development phase since early April 2011 and plans to continue to hire local talent in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties. iCare is currently seeking to fill local and national positions in sales, operations, development, IT, professional services, and accounting. Please email your resume to jobs@icare.com.
